Welcome to Studio Spatula!

I’m Scarlett Han, AKA scar, 2tong (èrtóng). I study art history, I paint, I sculpt, I eat (a lot), and I cook.

Both an artist and a cook uses a spatula—to mix and match, to stir and smudge, to create and question. Such energy flows inside Studio Spatula, where vivid colors juxtapose, unexpected flavors explode, and intriguing textures overlap.

Here at Spatula, I reflect, improvise, experiment, and narrate through food. I share lively seasonal recipes that are bold and evocative, and each of them tries to capture an expression of my memory and emotions.

You may also see some artworks I made, some travel journals I compiled, or maybe even some random half-assed poetry that I composed at 3 am—whatever you see that may awe you, bewilder you, or bore you—I hope they will all be in some way inspirational to you!

Just as I dare to throw a kiwi into my curry, I also dare you to have some fun!

In case you skipped everything above, here is my short like-list:

  • meatballs
  • mixing colors
  • homemade chicken stock
  • recent obsession: Belgian style choco milk
